Understanding Usage
ClickSpot uses usage-based pricing where you pay based on the number of redirects your short links receive each month.
What Counts as a Redirect?
A redirect is counted when:
- A visitor clicks your short link
- The visitor is redirected to your destination URL
- ClickSpot records the click for analytics
Each click counts as one redirect, regardless of what the visitor does after reaching your destination.
What Doesn't Count
The following don't count toward your usage:
- Link creation - Creating links is unlimited
- Link editing - Changing destinations doesn't use redirects
- Dashboard views - Viewing your links or analytics
- API calls - Managing links via API
- Bot traffic - Known bots are filtered out where detectable
- Password page views - Views before entering the correct password
How Usage is Calculated
ClickSpot uses graduated pricing tiers. Each tier only applies to redirects within that range:
- First 10,000 - Free
- 10,001 - 100,000 - $0.20 per 1,000
- 100,001 - 500,000 - $0.12 per 1,000
- 500,001 - 2,000,000 - $0.08 per 1,000
- 2,000,001 - 10,000,000 - $0.05 per 1,000
- 10,000,001+ - $0.02 per 1,000
See Pricing Plans for detailed examples.
Viewing Your Usage
- Go to Workspace Settings
- Select the Billing tab (owners only)
- View your current period usage
Billing Period
Your usage resets monthly:
- Based on your billing cycle start date
- Unused redirects don't roll over
- Usage is totaled at the end of each period
Free Tier
The first 10,000 redirects each month are always free. If you stay under 10,000 redirects, you won't receive a bill.
What Happens Over the Free Tier?
When you exceed 10,000 redirects:
- Links continue to work normally
- Additional redirects are billed at graduated rates
- You'll need a payment method on file
If you're over the free tier without a payment method, you'll be prompted to add one to continue tracking analytics.
Usage by Link
See which links drive the most traffic:
- Go to your links list
- Sort by Clicks (descending)
- View your top-performing links
Reducing Usage
If you want to reduce your usage:
- Archive unused links - Remove links that are no longer needed
- Use link expiration - Automatically disable temporary campaign links
- Review high-traffic links - Ensure all clicks are from intended sources
